Walk gently here, in our online Garden of Remembrance...
These are the members of the OSC family who have passed before us. They helped us see the face of St Chiros. We grieve the loss of them in our day to day lives, and eagerly await the reunion!
Margie Goforth, an Associate and our organist.
She was proprietress of the Head and Body Shoppe and known for being the designer and displayer of a whole doll community - several of which were reliably in attendance as a Franciscan (brown friar) monk led them in worship while Mir led the human(ish) flock in the same room... After Margie's death and the house fire, the friar was salvaged and Mir keeps him in remembrance. Margie had a joke, a wink and a nod for us always, and we miss her bright mischievous presence.
Mark Dunstan Eddy, Infant Oblate.
He was born on All Saints in emergency labor begun at Terracon and died during Orycon that same year, age two weeks. Il n'y a pas des mots... (There are no words...)
Mother Aderyni, Abbess and Founder, Jeanette Marie Smith Eddy.
Once a woman had a dream, a calling of God, to found a community of Christians in the Pacific Northwest SF fandom. We followed her vision, and are more than a little lost without her. She managed always to have charity, and could think of the best motivation for any action by any person.
Brother Stephen, Accepted, who held the offices of Hospitaller and Prior.
He had a lasting love of the Torah, and of Star Trek. He was very active with AOV and was the voice most Norwescon volunteers heard at Dispatch. We waited Easter Vigil for him more than once, as he tried to coordinate the convention's safety staff. Stephen was a gentle man, always ill to varying degrees but always so giving of what energy he had. He could speak peace when the rest of us were beyond frustration, and his sense of humor was bright, gentle, eager to share the joke with you.
